Tamale Class a SuccessA good sized group of women and a couple of men gathered on March 24 for an all day class on Tamale making, taught by Linda Sanchez. Everyone had a great time, and learned some of the details of making tamales from scratch. In the evening they were joined by others for a supper of tamales, two kinds of beans, Spanish rice, and bread pudding--no one went away hungry! |

The Rev’d Juan SanchezHoly Cross Anglican Church is most blessed and pleased to announce that Fr. Juan Sanchez has joined our staff. With his arrival in Tucson, we are formulating plans to expand the ministry of Holy Cross to the Hispanic folks of our community. Spanish Mass will be offered at 8:00 a.m. every Sunday with other spiritual services also available (see Santa Cruz). |

Bell and Sanctuary LightA Sanctuary light was purchased and installed through the use of part of the memorial given in the name of Warren Hayes. The Bell now hanging near the church door was found in Tubac by Fr. Haynes. Now the whole neighborhood knows that Holy Cross Church is in the neighborhood when we ring the bell before the Mass. |

New Altar ArrivesSeptember 20th saw the long anticipated arrival of a beautiful oak altar for Holy Cross. After years of "making do", it is a delight to have a real altar. There is discussion about whether the addition of a cross or Alpha/Omega to the front would be adding or detracting from appearance of the altar. The altar is given to the glory of God, as part of a gift from the estate of The Rev'd James Eigel. Fr. Jim was Curate of Holy Cross Anglican church for 5 years before his going to the Lord.
